The new 16TX-ZF FL hub, completes the hub family in the Factory Line range from Phoenix Contact. Each features eight or 16 ports enabling the demand-oriented, fast and configuration-free network expansion of infrastructure components up to field level.
The new Fast Ethernet hub is equipped with 16 RJ45 ports to connect further network segments or end devices respectively. The hub supports transfer rates of 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps, which makes it possible to couple network devices with the same data transfer rates. Thanks to the slide switch fitted on the front of the module, port 5 can be easily reconfigured to become a (cross-over) uplink port. This offers the benefit of connecting additional hubs, such as the 8TX-ZF FL hub, with a 1:1 Ethernet cable. This eliminates the costs of storing two different types of cables, which are normally required to link end devices and Ethernet infrastructure components (hubs and switches).
The hub offers a further power supply in the shape of the Combicon spring cage terminals, designed to simplify and speed up the provision of power to the subsequent hub. The module also meets the tough demands placed by the Powerlink Ethernet standard in full.
