Positive displacement flowmeters designed for custody transfer applications
November 2006
Flow Measurement & Control
Positive displacement (PD) flowmeters from Petrol Instruments are ideally suited for custody transfer applications of practically all liquids particularly for the petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. The roots floating rotors allows for accurate measurement of flow rate and/or volume where the roots are engineered never to touch each other or any other part of the flowmeter body. This eliminates wear and ensures metering stability and accuracy over extended periods of time. The cost of ownership is improved due to reduced maintenance and downtime including labour to re-calibrate the meter in the field. The meters are used in a wide range of applications from crude oil measurement at the well head to refined petroleum products and chemicals, mild acids and water.
Petrol Instruments manufactures a complete range of flowmeters from 25 mm (1") to 400 mm (16") in double or single case of 50 mm (2"), a variety of flange and temperature ratings and in various materials of construction (cast steel, aluminium, stainless steel, plastic - moplen complete with Hasteloy B). The meters are complemented by a full range of accessories for the protection of the meter, the elimination of air, mechanical registers, setstop counters, batching systems and control valves including flow computer options, ticket printers, temperature compensation and pulse outputs to suit most applications.
The equipment is backed by the local sub Saharan agent MSI with more than 20 years experience in support and project management of Tokico metering systems for custody transfer and industrial measurement.
