Citect launches on-demand industry benchmarking service

Citect, has announced that Simplot Australia has begun evaluation of Citect's new benchmarking service called 'Meta'. The food manufacturing giant will evaluate the production performance analytics service across five plants to leverage best practices and continuous improvement within the Australian business.
As a secure on-demand service, Meta promises to enable businesses to identify opportunities and improve capital deployment through benchmarking the performance of individual plants amongst each other as well as against global standards.
Peter York, supply chain development manager of Simplot Australia, says: "Identifying the best areas for improving overall competitiveness is essential and corporate managers need accurate information on individual plant performance along with comparison against industry standards to understand where capital and resources are best spent."
"Gathering this data is cumbersome, and the quality is often poor due to varying KPIs and other factors. Our selection of Meta has proved to be a more efficient and faster method to benchmark the performance of our plants. Because Meta is a secure online service with very easy configuration, we get a lot of valuable information for a minimal investment."
Citect is also working with the ARC Advisory Group to provide the global analysis and metrics used for the industry benchmarking standards. Citect claims this to be an industry first that will allow Meta users to compare their own performance against global industry figures and directly evaluate their competitiveness by KPI, industry and country.
