The spring clamp of the new Wago shield (screen) clamping saddles automatically adjusts to the diameter of the cable braid, largely independent of the skill of the operator. The series 791 shield connecting system is available in four different sizes covering the entire range of cable diameters - 1,5 to 6,5 mm, 5 to 11 mm, 10 to 17 mm and 16 to 24 mm. The clamping saddles can be mounted and removed without tools. The connection between the braiding and the bus bar is made automatically when the clamping spring is released. The clamping saddles are equipped with receptacles for 10 x 3 mm and 18 x 3 mm bus bars, which prevent unintentional twisting of the saddle when mounted on the bus bar.
The series 791 clamping system offers bus bar carriers in two different sizes. Due to its dimensions and the length of its carrying arm, the smaller version is designed for use with rail-mounted terminal blocks, whilst the larger and higher carrier is intended for use with the Wago I/O System components.
