Test pumps to effectively calibrate pressure instruments
July 2006Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration
Pneumatically-operated calibration test pumps, manufactured by Druck & Temperatur in Germany and supplied by Instrotech, can be used to effectively calibrate pressure measurement instruments. The test pumps can generate pressure and vacuum for the checking of both mechanical and electrical measuring instruments.
The LPP30 model generates a pressure up to +35 bar/+500 PSI switchable to generate a vacuum up to -095 bar/-28 inHg. Depending on the reference instruments used (for example calibrator, digital or analog pressure gauge), accuracies of up to 0,025%FS to ±1,0%FS can be achieved. The unit incorporates a fine adjustment valve for precise pressure readings.
Pressure tests can be carried out in workshops, laboratories or on site at the measuring point. The reference instrument is screwed directly onto the top of the pump and the instrument under test is connected via a tube with a ¼" BSP female port. With dimensions of 220 x 105 x 63 mm and weight of 510 g, the test pump is lightweight and relatively easy to operate.
