Instrotech's new Kobold DRZ series of rotary piston positive displacement flowmeters are high accuracy/high performance units designed to measure any clean liquid with lubricating properties and viscosity, ranging from 5 to 100 centistroke.
Operating in flow ranges of 6 to 415 litres/h, the DRZ series can be used with lubricating media such as oils, diesel fuel, glycol mixtures, waxes/pastes, paint, latex polymers, sugar solutions and detergents. Accuracies achieved are at +1,0% of reading.
The innovative design of the DRZ series uses a single piston rotating on a camshaft to meter the precise volume of liquid with each rotation of the piston. Piston rotation is detected by a Hall effect sensor and the signal is processed by electronics into a PNP or NPN pulse output (dependent on model type), or a full-featured controller with flow rate indication, 4 to 20 mA, 2- or 3-wire analog output and switches. The brass body construction is both economical and rugged providing a pressure rating to 4 MPa. The DRZ has a low pressure drop of 138 kPa maximum.
