The PSU housing of microLEVEL sensors has been specially developed to cope with tough environmental conditions. The devices can be installed in virtually any tank for a pressure-tight configuration. At the sensor end, the device conforms to IP68/10 bar protection. The entire sensor has IP69K conformance and is suitable for steam-jet cleaning. With the new model, SIE Sensorik has built a maximum of functionality and dependability into a minimised size. The sensors have been designed for reliable detection of all water-based and/or conductive media.
The extended service temperature range of +105°C, together with the option of autoclaving, makes these devices suitable for applications in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries.
The smartLEVEL technology is particularly adept at compensating for deposits and encrustations. The version with a test pulse on the switching signal line (available on request), provides almost complete monitoring of the sensor functions while in operation. This variant has been developed specifically for safety-relevant applications.
NO/NC coding with simultaneous PNP or NPN circuitry can be implemented with just one single sensor type via the three connecting leads. Versions are available with a 3 x 0,25 mm2 PUR lead or a standard M8 x 1 plug connector.
At the launch of this new range, versions are supplied with an M12, G1/4" and NPT 1/4" fixing thread.
A reverse-mount type with a pressure gland at the cable end enables customers to easily create rod-type probes of any desired length for use as limit switches.
The microLEVEL sensor offers easier implementation in existing applications and, thanks to its reduced dimensions, can also be conveniently used in more compact machines and systems.
Telco sensors in the pulp and paper industry Gail Norton Instrumentation
Sensors & Transducers
The pulp and paper industry poses a major problem for most photoelectric sensors. The high level of contamination in these dusty, dirty and grimy environments makes it impossible for most competing sensors to operate and sense reliably and efficiently.

Level measurement in LNG and LPG processes is about answering the simple question: “How much product is in the tank?” However, obtaining an exact value is not easy. The products are often under pressure, cryogenic, and highly explosive. Sensors from Vega have been operating successfully in all stages of the LNG/LPG process for many years.

Level Measurement & Control
Hydrostatic level sensors are very often installed in outdoor applications, primarily in the water and wastewater industries. A good connection to ground is essential when installing hydrostatic level sensors, since no grounding or poor grounding can result in destruction or damage to the level sensor.
