Local industrial communications and networking company, Throughput Technologies, was recently appointed as the southern African distributor for Phoenix Digital Corporation.
Phoenix Digital manufactures and supplies a range of fibre-optic backplane modules for many of the more popular PLC ranges, including Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric's Modicon Quantum, GE Fanuc and Siemens TI.
Powerful diagnostics features are available on the modules for direct communication across the backplane to the PLC CPU. In addition standalone units are also available to include other devices in the overall fibre network. Many protocols are supported including Ethernet, Data Highway, ControlNet, Modbus and Modbus Plus, etc. Mohammed Fassih-Nia, vice president International Marketing for Phoenix Digital Corporation, who was recently in South Africa attending Rockwell Automation's TechED said the following:
"Phoenix Digital Corporation, a world leader in fibre-optic communications in the automation and control markets is working with Throughput Technologies in their market territories. Phoenix Digital was impressed with their market coverage, technical knowledge, relationship to Rockwell Automation and other PLC vendors in South Africa, as well as their reputation and organisational structure. The positive approach by Throughput to all aspects of the Phoenix Digital relationship promises to pay off with increased business for both companies. We look forward to working with the people of Throughput."
