Simple device prevents backache
December 2000
Pneumatics & Hydraulics
A typical application that has often resulted in unnecessary backache, has been when a vibratory bowl is used to debur manufactured items. The items to be deburred are placed in the vibrating bowl, which contains an abrasive medium. As the deburred parts exit the bowl, any of the abrasive medium that exits with these parts is allowed to drop through a grating into a tray. In many cases this is laboriously scooped up and placed back in the bowl by hand, a backbreaking task.
The Exair Line Vac, supplied by ETest, provides an easily implemented and simple solution. The device chosen for this application would be a two-inch stainless steel annular arrangement that introduces a blast of compressed air axially through the centre. When installed in-line in a piece of tubing, the efficiently induced air current is sufficient to easily take over the task of replenishing the vibratory bowl. This would free up the operator to perform more important tasks. The Line Vacs come in numerous different diameters to suit different applications using standard tube sizes. They are also available in aluminium, for applications that are not abrasive, or corrosive.

Pneumatics & Hydraulics
Those working with hydraulic or pneumatic systems know that keeping your machinery running at peak performance balances productivity and cost. As systems age, they often become less efficient, requiring more energy and more frequent repairs. The good news is that you don’t always need to invest in an entirely new machine to solve these problems.
