Motion Control & Drives

Smart wireless drive

November 2005 Motion Control & Drives

Smart Wireless Drive 1 is an AC variable speed drive 0,37-160 kW that provides ease of use and simple installation and commissioning, making it a low cost solution for virtually all open loop drive applications.

Coherent operation using a unified control interface acros the entire range and with only 14 standard parameters to adjust. For the more advanced user the extended parameter set gives access to powerful additional functionality.

Smart Wireless Drive's optical interface allows communication with other control equipment and also with the IR remote control for fast and accurate product configuration.

Key benefits

* Coherent range:

220-240 V, 0,37 - 90 kW (1 or 3 phase)

380-480 V, 0,75 - 160 kW

480-525 V, 18,5 - 160 kW

* One drive concept reduces inventory, training and technical support.

* Small mechanical envelope.

* Rugged industrial operation, 50°C ambient rating.

* Simple mechanical and electrical installation.

* Fast set-up, factory default settings okay for most applications, only 14 basic parameters (40 max).

* Fast and accurate parameter configuration using IR-Remote control and PC Software.

* Dual rating for HVAC applications (S3, 4, 5 and 6).

* Integral braking chopper (not S1).

* Integral RFI filter and line chokes (S4, 5 and 6).

* Motor current and rpm indication.

* Silent operation with 32 KHz switching frequency.

* Debugging using troubleshooting and P-00.

* 150% overload for 60 secs (175% for 2 secs).

* High power 1 phase operation (up to 45 kW).

* Keypad control.

* Optical communication.

Key control I/O features

* Programmable I/O for flexible control.

* Bipolar analog input, 12 bit resolution for accuracy.

* Auto sensing active high or active low digital inputs for compatibility with positive or negative logic control equipment.

* Galvanically isolated and short circuit proof.

Key programming features

* Four preset speeds.

* 'DC injection' braking on enable to stop free wheeling motors.

* Mains dip ride through.

* Phase loss protection.

* Skip frequencies.

* Last four trips stored.

* Parameter lock.

* Hours run meter.

* Slip compensation for accurate load compensation.

* Integrated brake transistor (not size 1) for dynamic braking with brake resistor protection (no overload required).

* Speed scaling factor for master-slave arrangements.

* Emergency (fast) stop function.
