Valves, Actuators & Pump Control

Guaranteed leak-free operation in corrosive services

October 2005 Valves, Actuators & Pump Control

The highest possible resistance to corrosion with the advantage of bubble-tight shut-off is offered by Neotecha type NTB and NTC PFA lined ball valves from Tyco Valves & Controls, a business unit of Tyco Engineered Products & Services.

The PFA-lined Neotecha NTB (standard ball) and NTC (C-ball configuration) valves are ideally suited for acidic or corrosive fluid flow services requiring guaranteed performance, constant torque and minimal maintenance. The valves are based on a full bore design with a high KV value - offering a flow co-efficient equal to that of the pipe. Energised ball seats allow for a constant operating torque through the service life of the valve and result in a bubble-tight seal.

For particularly demanding applications such as hydrochloric acid (HCL), hydrofluoric acid (HF) and chlorine gas (CL2), Neotecha offers the specially prepared NTC-C1 version, which is supplied sealed in a plastic bag.

The unique body design, coupled with a self-adjusting leak-free stem seal make Neotecha NTB and NTC valves suitable for applications across a wide range of industries, including chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, iron and steel, and water treatment.

Every valve has an ISO 5211 mounting flange for simplified actuator mounting. The hand lever option features positive locking in the open and closed positions for the NTB range, and in six intermediate positions for NTC designs.

The body for both valve configurations is polyester coated (RAL 9002), offering excellent protection against external corrosion and rust. Available in sizes from 15-150 mm, Neotecha NTB and NTC ball valves are rated to temperatures of -40°C to +210°C and pressures from vacuum 10 Pa to 1,6 MPa. The valves are available with flanged connections to DIN PN 16 and ANSI B 16.10 and in face-to-face dimensions DIN 3202/T1/F1 and ANSI B 16. 10, allowing the NTB and NTC to easily replace plug and diaphragm valves.
