Sarel 'Thalassa' enclosures are made of high-pressure hot-moulded laminated fibreglass reinforced polyester. The material properties and unique construction features make the Thalassa range one of the strongest products of its kind. The mechanical strength and high IP rating (IP 66) coupled with excellent resistance to corrosion and UV radiation make the enclosures ideal for use in the harshest climatic and/or industrial environments such as encountered in coastal areas, chemical and petrochemical industries, mines, pulp and paper plants, textile industries, sewage works, steel mills etc. The range has been approved for use in various hazardous areas: classifications EEx e, Ex i, Ex N and DIP (Zone 1 and Zone 2).
Design features include placement of locks outside the protected area, rain canopies on top and bottom of the enclosures, in situ moulded foam gasket, captive stainless steel hinges, 25 mm pitched grid pattern on door to facilitate fast and easy marking of cutouts for door mounted equipment, and profile for direct mounting of DIN rails in the enclosure base. Door opening is 180° to the left or right. Accessories include wall mounting brackets, solid or perforated chassis plates, internal doors, distribution board conversion kits, etc. The enclosures are available either with plain door or with toughened glass window. Seven sizes ranging from 430 x 330 x 200 mm to 1055 x 850 x 350 mm (HxWxD).
