BEKA Associates has designed the BA405C. This is an intrinsically safe panel mounting manual setpoint station that enables the current flowing in a 4 to 20 mA loop to be adjusted from within a hazardous area. This basic instrument does not include a display, but if required the instrument can be supplied with an internal 3½ digit display with optional backlighting.
The intended application of the BA405C is the adjustment of plant parameters from the process area. Controller setpoints, actuator positions, or any parameter represented by a 4-20 mA signal can be adjusted from within a hazardous area. The BA405C incorporates a 10 turn high resolution potentiometer fitted with a friction damper to minimise the risk of accidental adjustment.
Atex intrinsic safety certification confirms compliance with the requirements for Group II Category 1G equipment EEx ia IIC T5, allowing the BA405C to be installed in almost all gas hazardous areas throughout Europe.
The optional internal display is powered by the 4 to 20 mA current loop so that no additional power supply is required. There are also optional two display backlights available. The front panel is robust Noryl moulding sealed with a scratch resistant polyester membrane. Reliability is ensured by an ISO9001 approved quality control system supported by a three year guarantee.
