Temperature takes time. Unlike pressure, temperature calibrations take time, and the higher the accuracy, the greater the time. Today, the need is for greater performance, but trained manpower is limited.
The new Jofra ATC Model B solves this problem. Apart from being designed to comply with the EA-10/13 guidelines, it allows completely automatic operation independent of a PC. This calibrator can be loaded with works orders, taken into the plant, connected to the sensor under test, then it conducts a complete calibration automatically. At the end of the day, it can be taken back to the shop, and the results uploaded for archiving and certification. While the calibrator is calibrating, the technician can be working on something else. Of course to do this, the calibrator has inputs for most types of transmitters, thermocouples and RTDs. Various models cover the range from -45 to +650°C.
A major feature is the way in which an external SPRT is totally integrated into the package where best performance is required. Competitors using an external SPRT to extend performance, require a separate and expensive reference indicator, and cannot integrate the SPRT into an automatic calibration, so it still requires manual record-taking.
