Kübler Africa recently supplied magnetic level instruments that were 12, 14 and 18 metres long. Traditionally, magnetic levels are between 300 mm and 3 m in length. The units were supplied in three parts for easy on-site assembly and installation. Normally, other methods of level measurement in high tanks are used. The major advantage of using the magnetic level system is that the level can be seen from 30 m, without the aid of any electronics. Calibrated 0-100% scales were also fitted to make gauging the amount of liquid more accurate. Just by glancing at the tank the level can be determined immediately.
Control of the level can be achieved by adding externally mounted, fully adjustable switches to the magnetic level chamber. The magnetic level indicators are supplied with ANSI 3.1b material certificates. X-ray, dye-pen and pressure test certificates are also available. A PED (pressure equipment directive 97/23/EG) certificate can be supplied with all of the company's magnetic level gauges.
So, irrespective of length, 150 mm to whatever is needed, temperature (up to 400°C), pressure (up to 40 MPa) and low specific gravities, Kübler Africa will be able to supply a suitable level device for the application.
