Upgrading performance while retaining legacy PLC code

The combination of CTI and Vipa gives Impala the familiarity of programming in the known CTI environment with cost effective I/O from Vipa. Interact IV undertook the installation on the new effluent treatment plant, and the software development was done in-house.
The TI505 series, which is a miniature version of the TI565 PLC, is advanced in its functionality. Features include automatic I/O determination in the field, comprehensive diagnostic features, memory and system management, pre-programmed alarms and PID loops with fill-in-the-block configuration faceplates. The instruction set includes loop_pack and alarm_pack instructions speeding up PLC/scada communications. This is all programmable in mnemonics with a basic type language in special functions with floating point maths capability - that can run as prioritised, cyclical, time-based - or event driven, allowing the parsing of parameters to other special functions and subroutines.
Control Technology and FastTrak Softworks, the original producer of 505 SoftShop (TI series programming software), elected to manufacture and launch four new CPUs: the 2500-C100 will replace the TI545-1105, 2500-C200 will replace the TI545-1106, 2500-C300 will replace the TI555-1105 and the 2500-C400 will replace the TI555-1106.
