Flow Measurement & Control

Variety of flowmeters

November 2004 Flow Measurement & Control Products & Solutions

The Siemens Sitrans F series flowmeters offer highly accurate and reliable measurement of flow rates for liquids of various consistencies, gases and vapours, using electromagnetic, ultrasonic or mechanical methods or using the Coriolis mass flow principle. Key applications are the chemical and petrochemical, water/wastewater, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage processing industries as well as power industries.

Due to their broad range of capabilities, Sitrans F flowmeters are multipurpose instruments providing solutions for standard or extreme applications. They can handle medium temperatures from -150 to +250°C, electrically conductive or non-conductive liquids, corrosive, extra high-viscosity media, in normal or hazardous environments.

The Sitrans F flowmeter range includes the following products:

* F M - electromagnetic flowmeters are used to measure volume flow rates of various conductive liquids including sludges, slurries as well as pulsating flows.

* F US - ultrasonic flowmeters are used to measure standard volume flow and also to provide information on media quality and temperature.

* F C - Coriolis mass flowmeters provide not only mass flow readings, but also information on media density, fraction and temperature.

* F VA - variable-area flowmeters measure accurate volume flow of homogenous liquids and gases from 1 l/h to 100 m³/h. These instruments require no external power.

* F R - rotary piston meters are used to accurately measure volume flow of conductive and non-conductive liquids, high viscosity media, acids and alcohol-based concentrates.

* F O - orifice flowmeters record flow measurements for liquids, gases and vapours. They offer accurate results - even with large-bore pipes, high temperatures and extreme pressures.

* F I - flow indicators are mechanical flow instruments for liquids and gases.
