Dupleix Liquid Meters (DLM) is offering Solartron Mobrey's powerful, new quad-stream gas flow computer. It is said to be the first to offer network managers an integrated solution for reliable, high accuracy monitoring of multiple flows. Suitable for use in fiscal and custody transfer applications, the versatile 1540 can be used to monitor, route and report gas flow volume, mass and rate by time and product.
The practice of using a multistream flow computer for fiscal monitoring as an alternative to the separate monitoring of individual fluid streams - already widely accepted in the USA - is now becoming increasingly popular in Europe. The new 1540 brings all the benefits of simpler, more cost-effective installation with high reliability and accuracy, to gas flow applications in production, allocation, transportation, distribution and sales metering.
The 1540 can be used with a wide range of flowmeters including turbine, orifice, ultrasonic, V-cone and venturi technology. Digital modbus and 4 to 20 mA analog communications ensure compatibility with a wide range of gas analysers.
Powerful software makes the 1540 suitable for use in all applications, and able to meet a variety of different regional requirements. The system is easily user-configured to meet individual needs, and operational data is displayed in user-selected engineering units.
Forward and reverse volume flows; mass flows and energy values for each stream and for the total station are given. Mass flows are calculated using a density measurement from an additional densitometer. Flow linearisation and viscosity compensation curves are built-in. Energy values are calculated using international standard equations ISO6976 and AGA5.
A wide range of other measurement transducers - temperature and pressure sensors for example - can be connected to the 1540 flow computer. Intermediate values such as line and atmospheric pressure, line temperature at the flow point and specific gravities can then be logged and/or used in analysis. An alarm logging function records up to 30 alarm events.
