The Control Roadshow takes a new turn

November 2004 News

Most readers know Penmac as the exhibition organisers for the Control Roadshow, which has been serving the industry for the past seven years. What many do not know about the business is that it also has a division focused on the audio-visual industry. Given Malcolm Findlay's career background in the control and instrumentation business, he has always felt at home with his clients in the Roadshow but those who know him well know that he also has interests in the music, recording and staging world. This, coupled with the new vision for the Control Roadshow, has led to the decision to expand the business.

Malcolm is excited to announce that he has a new partner in Penmac: "Theo van Rooyen is an 'old' friend of mine - although of course he denies the 'old' part! He has a strong background in business management having been in a senior position in the mining industry for many years. I am confident that with these extra skills on board we will be able to more effectively serve the needs of the industry and expand our business in both areas, ie, exhibitions and audio-visual services."

Plans for the Control Roadshow for 2005 include arranging a set of targeted exhibitions in some of the more isolated towns with direct access to key industries there. Some of the areas being considered for visiting include Messina, Steelpoort, Virginia, Welkom, Ellisras, Lichtenburg, Swaziland, Newcastle and Ermelo. The shows in the Natal area will be expanded to include Pietermaritzburg and Umbogintwini and Penmac is confident that this holds the prospect for a lot of new business opportunities for the exhibitors.

Audio visual services include:

* High impact visual presentations using state-of-the-art wide-screen technology and systems.

* Audio and visual support for events (sound systems, video and audio recording, music, lighting, projectors, screens, etc).

* Professional presentation development services (layout, content, audio and video, graphics).

* Video and audio editing services.

* Permanent sound, video projection system installations.

* Personal expert attention.

Malcolm continues: Exciting times lie ahead for us and we hope to be able to be of even greater service to you all in the future - It has already been an exciting year with shows in Cape Town, Phalaborwa, Witbank, Secunda, Port Elizabeth and Mossel Bay.

A number of new exhibitors have joined the Control Roadshow exhibitions and we are glad to have them on board. Upcoming shows in 2004 include Vaal Triangle, Kimberley, Lime Acres and Kuruman. A whole range of new products is being displayed and many of the visitors have found new applications for the products in their industries.

Our website, www.penmac.co.za has been a popular place for customers to visit (we have thousands of visits to our website each month) and we often have enquiries about products and applications which we pass on to our client base. We invite our regular customers to give us more of their product information to include on the site.
