The new industrial plug-in connector Variocon from Phoenix Contact is characterised by the fact that it is mounted directly into the equipment enclosure wall. A mounted housing is not needed and hence there are no additional costs.
The splash-proof wall feedthrough connector consists of only the cable gland, connector housing and pin and socket-contact inserts. The user can save up to 30% of the area otherwise required for installation, by using the new crimped-contact carriers for 250 V and 10 A. The knurled screws permit straightforward fastening onto the panel wall without any tools needed.
The crimped-connection technique makes a high degree of pre-configuration and high-density connections possible. This means lower per-pin costs. Contact elements with a 1,6 mm diameter that are commonly available fit the contact carriers from Phoenix Contact. 15, 30, 50 and 65-pin versions provide connection for up to 400 V at 16 A.
