Pressure transmitter for ultra-high pressure

Wika's new pressure transmitter HP-1 for ultra-high pressure applications features good long-term stability, safety and accuracy. The sputtered thin film sensor of the HP-1 ensures the long-term stability even in applications with highly dynamic load cycles.

The demand in pressure measuring instruments is growing due to new applications and the trend towards ever increasing pressure ranges. Wika placed great importance on safety and sturdiness during the development of the HP-1 pressure transmitter. The unique technology to stay the sensor directly on the pressure connection by means of a metallic sealing cone eliminates the risk of leakage and ensures high operating safety.

The double safety concept takes effect in the unlikely event of a leak inside the HP-1. Should the sensor break, the penetration of the measuring medium is limited by means of an eroded pressure channel. For process connections, according to Nova Swiss, two relief holes ensure that the medium emerges in the direction of the pressure connection in a predetermined way in order to ensure that the pressure transmitter will not burst in an uncontrolled fashion.

The new HP-1 was developed in close co-operation with leading experts in the ultra-high pressure sector. It is suitable for various applications with pressures up to 800 MPa (8000 bar) and may also be used in new applications such as high-pressure sterilisation or internal high-pressure forming.
