The Combustion Group (TCG) is offering the Series 8000 actuator valve from Maxon in the USA. Designed to withstand the abuse encountered in an industrial manufacturing environment, each shut-off valve (with its separate actuator) is individually factory assembled and tested prior to delivery. Its manufacturers believe that its non-production line approach contributes significantly to the ability to maintain high standards. Each valve is functionally tested to ensure the entire assembly meets the high standards of quality and safety.
An electric motor drives the valve open through a pinned mechanical linkage. The electric motor is turned off once the valve reaches the open position and will not be operated until the next opening cycle. Interruption of the electrical power releases a holding solenoid, causing the valve to close automatically. A robust top assembly provides substantial protection of the safety feature of the valve, preventing mechanical damage.
Various size actuators are provided to suit the valve body size with generous wiring space provided, including a top-mounted and covered terminal strip. All access covers feature metallic gaskets. The valve has a cast-iron, steel or stainless steel body, which can withstand temperatures up to 1425°C - well in excess of what would be experienced in normal operation.
