Cabinet solutions for the car industry

September 2004 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors

At this year's Hanover Fair in Germany, Rittal presented its system solutions used in the production area of the new Golf 5 to the broad trade public.

The car industry requires the most modern solutions for setting up high-tech production in order to be enabled to build cars of high quality not only quickly but also cost-efficiently. Rittal is an acknowledged system partner in the areas of enclosure and housing technology.

At the exhibition, Volkswagen and its partners illustrated by means of reconstructed production stages the automation in body-making, automotive paint line and cabin assembly. In this context Rittal showcased enclosure and housing systems as well as climate control solutions, which correspond to those used in the production of the Golf A5. Alongside the SPS enclosures, bus enclosures and modular Ethernet boxes based on AE, an enclosure with a special climate control door is shown. These cabinets are used in the press shop and the paint and assembly line.

Rittal has demonstrated how its enclosures may be used to great effect in difficult environments involving complex processes. Safety, quality and endurance concerns are all adequately addressed.
