Eight new LED counters and combi-units

August 2004 Data Acquisition & Telemetry

The Codix series of counters, tachometers and working hour meters, have been supplemented. Eight new AC variations with DIN dimensions 96 x 48 mm and a wide range power unit of 90-260 V a.c. have been added. One notable advantage is the bright six-digit LED display with a height of 14,2 mm. Codix units are inexpensive and available with single as well as with integrated double function. Kübler offers three new units with single function (Codix 541-543), to be used as totalisers or as position indicators for direct connection to encoders. There is also a tachometer version and a micro chronometer/working hour meter, prepared for metering of ms, too. All units may be equipped with an optocoupler. The combi-units (Codix 545-548) integrate two individual units. The combi-unit tachometer plus totaliser is equipped with two scaling factors, to be adjusted individually.

Further possible combinations could include two totalisers with individually adjustable scaling factors, or a totaliser combined with a time meter - and two working hour meters. The reset mode may be adjusted for each function.

Applications

Codix caters for many possible applications: engineering, medical technology, retrofitting, process technology, flow metering or in mobile devices. Something worth noting is the exemplary readability of the LEDs even at a distance of 8 m - and a reading angle of 150°. (By comparison, LCDs are at their limit at a distance of approx 1,5-2 m and an angle of 35°). All set up adjustments (resolution, mode of reset, decimal point position, mode of input, scaling factor, etc) are done via two keys and the steps are prompted by the display. The EEPROM guarantees a data storage of more than 10 years. The maximum counting frequency is 20 kHz.
