Air meter for compressed air and leakage monitoring
April 2004
Maintenance, Test & Measurement, Calibration
An air flow meter for compressed air consumption and leakage monitoring has been introduced by IFM Electronic. With a display and totaliser function, the type SD 6000/8000 directly detects the standard volume flow, eliminating the need to correct for temperature and pressure variation. With a fast response time and a wide measuring range from 0 to 225 m3/h and soon to 700 m3/h, even small leaks are detected. High accuracy, good repeatability and easy mounting are ensured as the meter is integrated into a length of high-grade stainless steel piping.
An integral four-digit alphanumerical LED display plus the status LEDs, allow information to be available at the point of monitoring. Whether critical values relate to peak, present or accumulated consumption, set switch or alarm levels can be accessed and programmed via a pushbutton. All settings can be protected using the electronic locking function.
Switching, analog and pulse outputs are available for signal processing, and parameters are set in the user menu. Meeting IP65 requirements, the unit is protected against short circuits, reversed polarity and overloads.
