The Land Cyclops PPM+ ER thermal imaging camera from Protea Automation Solutions is suitable for plant condition monitoring in electrical substations and mechanical areas where it is critical for preventative maintenance.
Operating in a -20 to 500°C temperature range, the thermal camera has a high quality aspherical lens with a digital zoom and an integrated visual digital camera. Thermal images are displayed in the viewfinder and on the bright, transreflective LCD PDA display. Both thermal and visual images can be displayed and captured for later use, while images and sound files can be saved to an iPAQ PDA for download and further analysis.
The low cost camera provides high-resolution images with low spatial noise, and its long wavelength detector and side lit display make it suitable for outdoor applications. The camera uses readily available camcorder batteries, and SD memory cards are used for easy file storage and transfer to a PC. The Cyclops PPM+ ER is also suited for structural integrity inspection, quality control, and research and development in other industries.
