Roodepoort-based Anglo Allied Engineering is celebrating its 50th year of business, serving the South African industry in the provision of electrical safety and industrial control equipment.
The company started operations in 1953 as Anglo Allied Agencies, run by Mr Anema, who soon changed the name to Anglo Allied Engineering. It was situated in Benrose and moved to Roodepoort in 1976 when Mr H. Reiten acquired the company.
Wiebe Visser joined the company in 1988, slowly buying into the company until he finally took over the complete running in about 1996. In 1999 new premises were built in a new industrial area of Roodepoort, the building being designed by the Anglo Allied team, to work for the Anglo Allied team.

Today, Anglo Allied Engineering holds sole distribution agencies for Bender and Schleicher and distribution agreements for Square D and Bernstein. The company distributes throughout South Africa and serves an extensive electrical wholesaler market.
