The EtherPAD Lite is a single port serial device server providing a software selectable RS232, RS422 or RS485 serial interface and a 10/100BaseT Ethernet interface. It can be used as a standalone, DIN rail or 19" rack mount product and is now available with Modbus Slave Bridge functionality.
As this product is popular in the industrial automation environment, with its robust aluminium housing, DIN rail form factor, and 24 V power supply, SAN People decided to add support for the Modbus/ASCII and Modbus/RTU serial protocols, and the Modbus/TCP and Modbus/UDP network protocols. The EtherPAD Lite supports SNMP, as well as Serial and Web Browser-based configuration.
To enable Modbus support, the new firmware can be downloaded from the SAN People website. See: www.sanpeople.com/support/FTP.asp. For more information on the EtherPAD Lite, see www.sanpeople.com/products/Lite.asp
