Compact PCI connectors

Industrial processing and machine controllers need increasingly powerful computer systems with high data bandwidths and graphic capabilities. Compact PCI is an international bus standard that was developed by the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group, and is able to meet these requirements. Compact PCI is processor-independent; supports 32- and 64-bit processing, and can reach data transfer rates of up to 264 megabytes per second.

The passive backplane architecture of Compact PCI is installed in standard 19-inch subracks. ERmet connectors are used to attach all the active components such as CPU card, video, LAN, and SCSI peripherals to the backplane in the form of plug-in boards.

ERmet connectors fulfil the high requirements of industrial environments. They are immune to impact, vibration, temperature, corrosion, and electrical influences. With their high pin numbers, 2,0 mm grid and reliable shielding for good impedance behaviour and low crosstalk, they fulfil all Compact PCI specifications. ERmet connectors provide standardised and customer-specific Compact PCI solutions.
