Technical conference comes to South Africa

October 2003 News Access Control & Identity Management Residential Estate (Industry)

NI Days is a yearly technical conference organised by National Instruments in more then 60 cities worldwide to bring engineers, scientists, and educators the latest news and updates in computer-based test, measurement, and automation technology.

The event builds on the success of NI Week, the worldwide virtual instrumentation conference held annually since 1993 near the company's headquarters in Austin, Texas. The NI Days event brings the NI Week conference's hottest topics to customers around the world.

For the fist time this year, NI Days technical symposium will take place in South Africa (Cape Town on 4 November, and Midrand on 6 November), with the most popular NI Week conference topics presented. Engineers, scientists, and educators involved in test, measurement, automation and control can take advantage of the highly practical, technical sessions of NI Days to gain information on technologies that empower them to advance in productivity, cost, and time savings. Throughout the day, engineers and scientists can participate in the following presentations:

* Advanced tips and techniques in LabVIEW.

* Architecting control applications with LabVIEW.

* Architectures for designing LabVIEW applications.

* Building integrated analog and digital test systems.

* Faster development and powerful I/O with LabVIEW 7 realtime module.

* FieldPoint/Compact FieldPoint basics session.

* Rapid prototyping, HIL testing, and device simulation using LabVIEW FPGA.

The agenda also incorporates presentations on well-known, local applications. Hear inside information from our guest presenters, SALT project programmers, on the choice and impact of LabVIEW software on South Africa's and the world's most famous large telescope project.

Meet National Instruments' guest speaker and machine conditioning monitoring and sound and vibration expert Preston Johnson, who travels from the US and the NI corporate office to attend and present at the event.
