IFM Electronic's ecomat 100 controller has been specially designed for use in vehicles and mobile machines. The user can set the parameters for both input and output functions thus the same controller module can be used for different requirements reducing stock levels. Up to 80 inputs/outputs are available in one compact unit as well as two integrated CAN interfaces. This enables the implementation of a freely programmable CAN gateway for coupling different networks. In addition, outputs can be used as digital, PWM or current regulated outputs with an H-bridge function.
Via the first interface, data can be transmitted for example to decentralised input/output modules or to a dialogue unit. The CANopen protocol enables fast and flexible connection to the bus. Gateway functions can be easily implemented such as control and diagnostic data of diesel engines with SAE J 1939 protocol. These can be read and processed directly via the second CAN interface. Alternatively, it can also be configured as a 'truck trailer interface' according to ISO 11992.
Programming by means of standardised IEC 61131-3 languages enables the user to create a clear and easy application program. Function libraries are available for special hardware functions such as gateway J 1939, CANopen and second I/O level enabling direct integration into the software.
