Modular valve manifolds with enhanced functionality

September 2003 Valves, Actuators & Pump Control Security Services & Risk Management

Numatics SA has been specified on a very large project in the Richards Bay area involving ISO manifolds with Profibus DP manifolds. The company's approved G2-2 electronics allows for enhanced capability on valve manifolds - these are available for use with: DeviceNet, Profibus, Ethernet, Interbus S, Allen Bradley Remote I/O and ControlNet.

All the above protocols are capable of handling 32 solenoids and are to IP65 and MENA 4 certified. All Numatics fieldbus manifolds are modular and plug-in, this eliminates wiring and the modularity offers flexibility. The ability to plug and unplug modules results in easy maintenance, reducing costs and downtime. Numatics manifolds incorporate 'Z' board and back plate technology; this means there is no internal wiring or active components on the PC boards. Numatics manifolds are available from 1/8 ports to ISO 3 (1/2) and in all the above-mentioned bus protocols, with 25-pin sub-D connectors as well as round multipin connectors. The valve manifolds are available with a variety of options incorporating the Numatics spool and sleeve solenoid valves, with a 200 million cycle guarantee.
