Industry specific AC quick-disconnect cable assemblies

August 2003 Enclosures, Cabling & Connectors

IFM Efector has developed a complete line of Micro AC and Mini AC cable assemblies designed for use in severe washdown conditions in the food and beverage industry. The cable assemblies are constructed with a durable ITC rated, impact and crush resistant PVC jacket. Designed to shrug off water, caustic chemicals and other contaminants, the jacket is able to withstand physical abuse in extreme hot and cold environments.

Included in the range are grey PVC and insulated 18 AWG conductors. PVC offers good mechanical strength and resistance to chemicals with excellent flame, heat, oxidation, moisture and abrasion resistance. It also gives good performance in a broad range of temperature conditions. The grey coloured jacket blends with the stainless steel equipment and piping found in the food and beverage industry.

An EPD O-Ring has good insulation resistance and strength as well as being resistant to abrasion. It is also well suited to the caustic cleaning found in the food and beverage industry. Providing protection against freezing and rusting conditions, the 316 stainless steel ferrule has a smooth external hexed shaped coupling nut that aids in the cleaning process and is able to withstand abrasive conditions.

The QD cables are shock resistant to temperature changes between -20 and +105°C providing a long life in harsh environments. Included in the range are three- and five-wire 300 V Micro and Mini AC connectors, Mini AC male receptacles, three and five-wire Mini AC female connectors, three- and five-wire Mini AC receptacles and three-wire and five-wire Micro AC female connectors.
