The modular, manageable switch system from the Phoenix Contact factory line range enables industrial use Ethernet applications for automation systems. The modular manageable switch (MMS) consists of a head station and up to two side-by-side mounting expansion modules. Each unit can take up to a maximum of eight ports. This enables expansion stages from eight to 24 ports.
For the first time, advanced modular two-port interface modules provide a flexible cable connection, alternatively facing down or to the front, and designed respectively for twisted pair, glass fibre or polymer and HCS (hard clad silica) cables. The compact design with a depth of 110 mm provides flexibility when choosing the installation environment - whether this is a control cabinet or distributed control boxes. The robust switch not only meets all industry standards regarding EMC and mechanical loads, it is also designed with vibration-proof push-pull locking to the RJ-45 standard. Management functions including web-based management (WBM) and simple network management protocol (SNMP) makes configuration, set-up and diagnostics easier.
