Instrotech has introduced a new inductive conductivity meter LAL, sourced from Kobold, which has an integrated temperature sensor. Examples of applications for the meter are to measure conductivity in food applications, in quality control of products and in CIP/SIP cleaning.
The device has a very small and compact immersion body with a measuring channel that provides excellent passage for the medium. The inductive method of measurement prevents electrode wear and invalid measurements caused by soiling and polarisation. All evaluation electronics are integrated into the connecting head to provide advantages such as low installation costs, minimum wiring and a high degree of noise immunity.
Two analog outputs (4 to 20 mA) for conductivity and temperature are available. The Kobold LAL can be supplied in two versions with either three or four measuring range selection. Ranges are from 0-1 mS/cm up to 0-500 mS/cm and temperature measurement up to 150°C. Temperature coefficient can be configured on the meter via internal set buttons. Maximum pressure is 1 MPa (10 bar). Protection is to IP67 and the sensor housing is manufactured out of stainless steel with the immersion body made in PEEK.
