The ready-made application modules built into the SEW-Eurodrive Movidrive drive inverters make it easy to adapt to many tasks by simply setting parameters, without being too familiar with the program. Since the functionality has been tested and documented, it can be loaded into the inverter and operated by just pressing a button.
A typical solution to a routine materials handling application is the setting up of an electronic synchronous operation for, say, the dividing up of the output from an extruder into uniform lengths, using a cutting tool such as a circular saw. The 'electronic synchronous operation' application, function, which is built into the standard Movidrive unit, enables a group of motors to be operated at a synchronous angle or with an adjustable proportional relationship in relation to one another (electronic gear). In the example shown, three saws are operating and each saw must cut at 90° to the media, in sequence, whilst it moves along at constant speed.
'Electronic synchronous operation' is particularly suited to this application, as well as for also providing solutions for beverage industry filling stations, multiple column hoists, and synchronous material transport.
Start-up is an easy process, all important machine data is easily accessible. There are essentially no sources for errors, since only those parameters required for the application have to be entered. For a simple application, all relevant data, eg terminal status or position values can be observed with a diagnostic tool during the ongoing operating process.
A distributed automation programme is the prerequisite for a cost-effective machine design. That is why the IPOSplus positioning and sequence control is a standard element in Movidrive frequency control unit that controls the processes and sequences of the drive in a cost-effective manner. IPOS is precise - even at high speeds, since it uses the exact and highly dynamic control capabilities of the Movidrive units. IPOS has direct access to the inverter parameters, making it quick and flexible to use.
