Controlotron believes that the success of its flowmeters has been the dispelling myths of inadequacies that have traditionally surrounded ultrasonic flow measurement.
A hybrid design incorporating both transit-time and Doppler measurement into one flowmeter enables the Controlotron units to measure in almost any closed pipe, liquid flow application. Specialised transducers are selected per application specification and measurements are possible in pipe sizes from 6 mm up to 9 m with transducers and mounting accessories predetermined from a selection table.
Pipe conditions, such as wall thickness, are determined prior to installation. The appropriate gauge is quickly installed and the digital menu prompts allow a brief set up process. The Controlotron series flowmeters are offered in various configurations ranging from standard indoor units to IP65 cases, submersible systems, single, dual or quad channel systems, thermal energy meters, leak detection and explosion proof meters.
The meters are not limited to portable versions - fixed installations are common, especially in instances where a number of pipes are to be measured simultaneously, where a single processor can accept up to four pipe-line measurements.
A unique feature is the special four-beam design which is used in applications that require high precision for use in custody transfer applications. This system has an intrinsic accuracy of better than 0,5% which can be calibrated down to 0,2%.
Controlotron has found that its dedication to providing nonintrusive flowmeters with increased accuracy, without the need to cut or drill into existing pipework, has seen many large industries come to appreciate the advantages of this newly available technology.
