Pneumatics & Hydraulics

A wide range from BMG Hydraulics

September 2011 Pneumatics & Hydraulics

BMG Hydraulics distributes a wide range of valves designed to withstand operation in rigorous applications and ensure reliable performance in the most demanding industries.

“An important part of our business is the supply and servicing of hydraulic valves,” says Mark Johnson, national sales manager for BMG Hydraulics. “The company’s leading range of hydraulic valves, manufactured by Eaton Vickers, extends from simple shut off to precise directional control valves used in advanced motion control systems.”

Hydraulic valves work in tandem with hydraulic cylinders, pumps and motors, to contain the flow and pressure of hydraulic fluid in hydraulic power systems. Typical applications are found in machine tools, mining, automotive, metalworking, power generation and construction. The company’s range consists of spool type directional control valves (from NG 6 to NG 32), proportional valves in directional, throttle and pressure control types, slip-in cartridge valves (from NG 16 to NG 80) and modular screw-in cartridge valves.

Compact slip-in cartridge valves improve the efficiency of the latest hydraulic machines and equipment enhancing the flexibility of the system, ensuring reliability, offering greater resistance to contamination and eliminating external leakage.

Hydraulic valves used in a fluid control system are designed to regulate flow and fluid pressure to the desired application. Vickers proportional hydraulic valves, with or without integrated onboard electronics, ensure optimum power consumption and improved machine operating time. These valves have a rated working pressure up to 350 bar and are designed for different performance levels to meet precise requirements.

In order to streamline a hydraulic system, valves can be incorporated into a manifold block. These blocks are custom designed by BMG Hydraulics on an Autodesk Inventor and manufactured on NC machines at BMG’s fabrication facility in Johannesburg. Manufactured from aluminium, mild steel or imported Durabar, special coatings are available for blocks designed to operate in corrosive environments.
