New digital I/O modules
March 2011
Valves, Actuators & Pump Control
Wago’s Speedway 767 system is being expanded with two mixed modules, making the IP67 system more versatile than ever.
The connections on these new digital I/O modules (DIO modules) can be set channel by channel as inputs or outputs. This level of customisation provides improved flexibility for planning, calculation and expansion of machines and systems.
The DIO modules record binary signals from switches, sensors and proximity switches. They control actuators such as magnetic valves, DC contactors and indicators. DIOs have a maximum of eight high-side switching inputs or outputs which, for the 767-5801 module, can be connected using eight M8 plug connectors, or for the 767-5802, four M12 plug connectors (doubly assigned). Both modules are capable of channel and module diagnostics. Each is configured channel by channel (operating mode, filter, inversion, substitute value strategy, substitute value, manual mode, online simulation, and diagnostics).
Initially the modules will support the DI, DO, and DIO operating modes, with support for DIO + 1 counter and DIO + 2 counter arriving later this year. With these, two inputs can be expanded into an event, gateway time or pulse duration counter. An example is their ability to switch module outputs directly, depending on a counter status.
