The LI51 series of electronic point level sensors from ifm electronic can detect minimum level, overfill or leakage in tanks.
The sensors have been optimised for use in hydraulic oils and water-based media such as coolants; errors resulting from deposits or foam can be suppressed during operation without requiring complete readjustment.
The requested point level is set via two pushbuttons. Full and empty adjustments are carried out separately with the order determining the output function (NC or NO). The sensor is installed in the tank from above, and the immersion depth in the tank and the point level can be precisely adjusted using a clamp. Lengths from 132 to 737 mm are available for easy installation using a variety of adapters.
In contrast to mechanical float switches, the LI51 series works on the capacitive operating principle with no moving components and therefore no mechanical wear. They are connected via a translucent M12 connector that leaves the LED display for supply voltage and switch-point clearly visible.
