Next generation diaphragm valves
May 2010
Valves, Actuators & Pump Control
When compared to conventional valves, Georg Fischer’s new generation diaphragm valves reduce operational costs by having double the flow for the same amount of energy used.
The optimised valve body has linear flow properties and hence optimised control characteristics, which in turn guarantee more stable processes. Furthermore, the weir of the branched valve has been moved closer to the wall of the pipe and the dead leg has been reduced to an absolute minimum, maximising hygiene.
Valve bodies are available in PVC-U, PVC-C, ABS as well as PP-H, PP-n and PVDF, membranes in EPDM, PTFE, FPM and NBR. Fields of application include chemical processing, water treatment, measurement and control, food and beverage as well as applications with high viscosity and solid content.
The new valves provide maintenance-free safety without compromise. Instead of the usual four metal screws, it now has only one central plastic housing nut. This corrosion free connection excels in terms of homogeneous temperature behaviour, uniform surface pressure and a high level of tightness.
Available in automatic or manual, the hand wheel comes with two-coloured position indicators, an interface for self-adjusting electrical feedback, a connection for pneumatic DIASTAR actuators and a flexible air connection that can be rotated in 90° steps. A locking mechanism prevents inadvertent hand wheel manipulation.
