Kobold’s stainless steel diaphragm differential pressure switch – type SCH-28 – works exceptionally well in harsh industrial environments where dust and sludge are in abundance. In these robust and wear-free devices, pressure changes between two pressure chambers are transferred via a metal diaphragm to a self-centring pivot. Stainless steel bellows and PTFE seals ensure perfect sealing. Reliable functionality as well as high level of resistance to various aggressive mediums is achieved through a mechanical system made of top quality stainless steel. Static pressure levels of up to 25 bar and process temperatures of up to 100°C can be tolerated.
Depending on requirements, five measuring ranges spanning from 0,1-1 bar to 0,2-10 bar are available. In addition, the instrument can be exactly specified for an application by choosing an appropriate microswitch. Single or double adjustable switches are available for selection. High switching ratings are available for AC and DC voltage with ‘gas-filled VDC’ contacts. For applications with very low switching capacities, gold plated and gas-filled micro switches are best. Other options allow practical solutions for special applications. Similarly, designs with diaphragm seals are available for a number of applications. The protection class is IP65.
The unit is suitable for a variety of applications such as food, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and conventional and nuclear power stations where it is required to control differential pressure, level and flow. The simplicity of the design, without levers, cams or similar mechanism, gives the unit an exceptionally long working life. Protection class is IP65.
