BMG opens new regional service centre in Riverhorse Valley

July 2016 News

BMG recently opened a regional service centre in Riverhorse Valley, one of Durban’s rapidly growing industrial hubs.

“The consolidation of BMG’s KwaZulu-Natal workshop facilities and field services into a centralised hub, enhances the company’s service to a diverse customer base throughout the region,” says Donovan Scott, general manager for BMG’s KwaZulu-Natal’s regional service centre. “This 2600 square metre dedicated facility, which focuses on our core KZN divisions – including drives, gaskets, hydraulics and materials handling – works closely with 13 dedicated BMG branches in the region to meet every customer’s exact requirements.

“BMG’s new specialist service centre, with assembly, repair, maintenance and support operations, offers a combined technical expertise and value added product solutions, to strengthen the company’s service offering in the region.

“Advantages for customers include improved service, repair and delivery efficiencies, centralised technical support and easy accessibility to BMG’s comprehensive range of quality branded engineering components.”

The centre’s training programme covers electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and materials handling disciplines, as well as predictive maintenance and component failure analysis.

BMG’s mobile field services team conducts breakdown and routine maintenance and advises on possible productivity improvements to ensure the highest level of plant output and reliability.

Specialist services include installation, adjustment, replacement and maintenance of components, shaft and pulley alignment, balancing, condition monitoring, oil sampling and analysis and critical equipment inspections and lubrication schedules. Maintenance training and fault diagnosis also form an important part of BMG’s field services.

The success of this consolidation initiative is likely to result in the establishment of similar service centres in the Western, Northern and Eastern Cape regions, as well as in Mpumalanga.
