Smart camera for image processing offers new enhanced features

The feature-enhanced Wenglor weCube smart camera for industrial image processing now includes optical character recognition (OCR). In addition, a further variant has been developed with C Mount threaded connection for special applications, and all models now offer two standard protocols, namely ProfiNet and EtherNet/IP.
The OCR function makes it possible for the smart camera to read predefined OCR-A and OCR-B fonts over several lines in a single scanning operation. The teach-in function offers the option of ‘learning’ additional fonts to adapt to customer-specific applications. Six new product variants with OCR module are available. The user interface for the software can be set to a total of 10 different languages.
The housing with standard threaded connection is compatible with all commercially available C mount camera lenses. The diversity of optics permits precise adaptation of the image, including flexible ranges of vision from great distances.
weCube fulfils the requirements for IP67 protection and a specially-designed protective tube prevents erroneous mechanical adjustment of the lens. Also available is an option of InoxSens housing with IP69K protection made of stainless steel for use in hygienically sensitive industrial environments.
