Moxa has announced the launch of its new VPort P16-1MP-M12-IR series rugged IP camera. The camera features HD (720p, 1280 x 720) video images and is EN 50155 compliant (T model: -40 to 70°C), ensuring reliability and safety for railway operations under temperature extremes. With a built-in IR illuminator and ICR (infrared cutfilter removal) functionality, the VPort P16-1MP-M12-IR is suitable for capturing images both day and night.
Extreme reliability for onboard applications
Onboard environments are not ideal for filming, especially when conditions such as extreme temperatures, high electromagnetic disturbances from passing rolling stock, and dust or water particles interfere with the CCTV system. Moxa’s VPort P16-1MP-M12-IR is an industrial-grade IP camera that provides reliability in any conditions. With EN 50155 compliance, IK10/EN 62262 vandal-proofing, IP66 rain and dust protection, -40 to 70°C (TX) operating temperature, and an H.264/MJPEG IP dome, the cameras have the versatility and ruggedness needed for mobile IP video surveillance applications in a variety of different installations and environments.
Superior image quality even in total darkness
The lighting conditions onboard a train will vary widely as the vehicle passes through a variety of different environments, including tunnels, the open air, and shaded areas. Light plays an important role in providing clear images, and to overcome inadequate lighting conditions, network cameras with infrared (IR) provide clear images even in total darkness. Moxa’s VPort P16-1MP-M12-IR delivers HD (720p, 1280 x 720) video images, and the IR provides the best of both worlds, delivering vibrant colour images during the day and high resolution black and white images at night. The camera supports up to three video streams, and features DNR and WDR for high quality video images. Moxa’s CBR Pro technology is also supported for excellent image quality in fast motion.
