NewElec manufactures custom-built electrical enclosures using computer-controlled manufacturing equipment. The use of PMPT technology eliminates the need to manufacture expensive tools and moulds, resulting in faster development times.
Toolless technology compares favourably with injection moulded parts in appearance, finishing and durability, with a minimal non-recurring engineering charge. If changes are made using thermoforming or injection moulding technologies, a charge is incurred for a new mould each time the product needs to be modified. With PMPT, there is no need for a new mould as NewElec’s in-house engineers are able to modify the part quickly with minimal cost.
When fast, high quality plastic enclosures are required, NewElec is able to receive the design and quote within 48 hours. Once the quote is accepted, the prototype phase commences. This usually takes one to two weeks depending on the demands of each enclosure design. The manufacturing process takes two weeks or more, depending on the demand in the shop. The result is a flexible, affordable plastic enclosure that meets the customer’s needs. NewElec’s quick turnaround process takes the enclosure (ABS, acrylic or HIPS) from design to 3D model to prototype to manufacturing faster than any other process.
