Metrix’s digital proximity system (DPS) combines the performance of a fully API 670-compliant eddy-current proximity measurement system with the flexibility of digital configur-ability. The system consists of a matched probe, extension cable and signal conditioning module, and the revolutionary new approach enables users to match these three elements on site through configuration software, thus eliminating the need for dozens of different drivers, transmitters and spares. Furthermore, old field instrumentation can be maintained and replaced by a single, field-configurable package that can be set to work with probes and cables from a variety of manufacturers. Fully API 670 compliant, the DPS is programmable for radial vibration, axial position, or speed measurements. It is also compatible with most probes and cables from major manufacturers.
