Flo-tech hydraulic diagnostic products

Technews Industry Guide - Maintenance, Reliability & Asset Optimisation 2015 Pneumatics & Hydraulics

Flo-tech is a leading brand of portable testers and turbines for hydraulic fluids. Flo-tech began in 1961 with the introduction of its first generation PFM portable tester. Over the years, the Flo-tech tester line has undergone a progression of design changes that have enhanced its operational features while maintaining the rugged dependability of that first tester.

Flo-tech products are manufactured by Badger Meters, an innovator in flow measurement and control products that serve water utilities, municipalities and commercial and industrial customers worldwide. Measuring water, oil, chemicals, and other fluids, Badger Meter products are known for accuracy, long-lasting durability and for providing valuable and timely measurement data.

PFM portable hydraulic testers

• Simultaneous flow, pressure and temperature measurement.

• Battery operation.

• Digital display of flow rate, temperature and analog dial or digital pressure gauge.

• Flow rates up to 750 LPM (200 GPM).

• Accuracy plus/minus 1% of full scale.

• CE Compliant.

• Optional: Bi-directional function or power measurement in HP or kW.

• Operating pressures to 414 barg.

• Operating temperatures to 149°C.

Flo-Check USB hydraulic system analyser

The Flo-Check USB hydraulic system analyser is the next generation of hydraulic test equipment. The tester line includes three additional models: PFM6, PFM6BD and PFM8. In addition to the hydraulic testers, Flo-tech also offers a full line of turbine flow sensors in four models including: Activa, Ultima, Classic, and Quad.

This data is displayed and logged through a custom Windows-based software application; data is received from the analyser through a standard USB cable (both software and cable are included with the unit).

• Simultaneous flow, pressure and temperature measurement.

• USB powered.

• Captures pressure spikes up to 10000 PSI (689 bar) -0.2 millisecond response time.

• Saved data can be exported to Microsoft Excel.

• Can log up to 12 hours of data.

• High and low set point alarms for flow, pressure and temperature.

• Records alarm history.

The Flo-Check USB is ideal for testing, troubleshooting and diagnosis in mobile and industrial hydraulic applications, and for setting hydraulic components such as pumps, valves and motors. The unit is bi-directional and includes a low-resistance load valve and internal pressure relief discs.

In-line hydraulic turbine sensors

• Simultaneous flow, pressure and temperature measurement.

• Flow ranges up to 1 324 LPM (350 GPM).

• Accuracy plus/minus 1% of full scale.

• Frequency pulse, 4-20 mA and voltage outputs.

• Operating pressures to 414 barg.

• Operating temperatures to 149°C.
