Laser level or distance measurement is a quick response, continuous, non-contact measuring method that works well in applications where accurate, high speed level control and position feedback is required.
The Allpronix AL40 is designed for measuring the level of granular solid materials and opaque liquids. The characteristic narrow beam divergence of the laser permits direct aiming to the target surface without interference from structure or falling material.
The AL40 uses a high-speed laser pulse to measure distance. Laser light is emitted towards the surface, and the reflection is detected by a sensitive optical receiver. The time is takes for the light to travel to the surface and back is directly proportional to the distance. The unique performance and characteristics of a laser, allow it to be used for short and long-range distances. It can be used in many applications. If you can see the target surface clearly, then the AL40 can measure the level. An optional dust tube is recommended for dusty applications, which helps in keeping the lens dust free for longer. The AL40 is proudly South African, and features an on board LCD display and programming keypad, eliminating the need for a laptop on site.
The AL40 also has both continuous 4-20 mA and single point relay outputs. This means it can operate as a process control sensor while simultaneously providing high and low alarm outputs. It also incorporates a laser pointer which eases aiming the AL40 toward the desired measuring point during installation.

* Resolution: 0,01 m.
* Accuracy: 0,1% of full scale.
* Update: 2-10 readings per second.
* Supply: 90-240 VAC and 24 VDC.
* Beam angle: Less than 1 degree.
* Laser safety: Class 1M do not view laser directly.
* Operating temperature: -20 to 60°C.
* IP rating: IP65.
Whether measuring a few metres into the confined space of a crusher, or to the bottom of the tallest silo, the AL40 is a plug-and-play solution to the problem of level measurement.

* Level measurement: Tall narrow bins; plastic pellets, slurries; outdoor river/stream monitoring; water treatment stockpile height; and molten metal level.
* Positioning and detection: Overhead crane; tripper car; steel slab detection and positioning; truck loading systems; and parking garage systems.
