Parker domnick hunter Filtration and Separation, a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, has introduced the new NitroSource nitrogen gas generator, developed to offer a new level of specification and cost savings for nitrogen requirements. NitroSource requires less compressed air to generate more nitrogen than alternative generators, the result is a market-leading level of low energy intake.
NitroSource also offers a number of significant advantages over delivered gas options. With traditional gas supply methods, on top of the headline gas price, users are subject to ‘hidden costs’ such as cylinder hire, delivery and administration charges. Typically 10% of the gas in every cylinder will be returned to the supplier unused. NitroSource is a permanently installed solution, resulting in a significantly reduced risk of introducing contaminants into the gas stream, with no requirement to break into the sealed system to connect and disconnect cylinders or liquid filling equipment.
By switching to on-site generation, users can expect investment payback within 6 to 24 months – depending on existing gas supply and consumption. On top of the significant cost savings, the system offers the assurance of an uninterrupted supply. All units are equipped with the unique NitroSource gas quality control system, which ensures a stable gas pressure, consistent flow, guaranteed purity, maximum operational efficiency and economic control.
Phil Green, market development manager gas generation, says, “It is important for customers to understand the total lifetime cost of their nitrogen supply. Using NitroSource means that the user has access to the lowest unit cost of nitrogen.”
The NitroSource system is suitable for a vast range of markets and applications and consists of the following:
• Mass flow controller – delivers the correct set pressure and flow removing the risk of any over-flow or compromise in nitrogen purity no matter what happens downstream.
• Integral oxygen analyser – constantly measures the oxygen content in the output gas stream to ensure correct gas purity.
• By-pass – automatically vents out of specification gas ensuring total protection of the product or process.
• Inlet and outlet pressure regulation – guarantees the correct pressures and safeguards both equipment and product from potential damage or spoilage.
• Electronic control system – provides 100% control of all critical generator functions, including economy control, monitoring outputs and alarms.
• Optional remote monitoring – enables connection to proprietary remote management and generator control systems.
